A former Mississippi State defender is headed to the Big 12. Defensive lineman Jevon Banks confirmed on Twitter that he’s joining Kansas State.

Banks was a member of Mississippi State for 3 seasons. In total, Banks appeared in 15 contests and amassed 25 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss and 0.5 sacks.

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound Banks will have 3 remaining seasons of eligibility at Kansas State. The Mississippi native arrived at Mississippi State as a 3-star prospect as well as the No. 16 in-state prospect, the nation’s No. 25 SDE and the No. 539 overall recruit in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Banks entered the transfer portal last week on Jan. 6.

Mississippi State posted a 9-4 record this season amid the death of late coach Mike Leach. The Bulldogs will begin next season with a home matchup vs. SE Louisiana on Sept. 2.
