Vanderbilt running back Ray Davis has announced that he’s entering the transfer portal. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound senior shared the news on Twitter.

“I want to thank Vanderbilt for taking a chance on me in 2020 and allowing me to represent this program at the highest level,” Davis said. “With that being said, after making conversations with my family and support group, I will be entering into the NCAA transfer portal as a Graduate Transfer.”

Davis compiled 1,042 yards and 5 touchdowns on 4.5 yards per carry this season. Davis had 5 games this season of at least 100 yards. Davis rushed for a season-high 167 yards in a 38-27 loss vs. South Carolina on Nov. 5.

Davis spent 2 seasons at Vanderbilt after playing 2 years at Temple. During his first season at Vanderbilt, Davis tallied 211 yards and a touchdown on 44 carries. Davis rushed for a career-high 8 touchdowns during his freshman season at Temple.

Vanderbilt finished with a 5-7 overall record and 2-6 mark in SEC play this season.
