Bruh we're always, always dominant in wrestling and gymnastics. But it doesn't matter, the only people who bring up national championships outside of Football, Basketball and Baseball are teams teams like USC jr. Also, maybe south carolina should get a major city and a singular fortune 500 company before it tries to talk smack on the fourth most populous state in the conference.
Well A&M is partially responsible for the massive increase in coaching salaries over the last several years, A la Jimbo
I think they write these articles at least a month in advance...seems kinda dumb considering this article could have been written and released in about 1 hours. They coulda written it yesterday and had a lot more interesting things to talk about. instead half of it is kinda irrelevant.
SDS literally covered cook's labrum surgery on 12/29.... just kinda..super lazy? to not even read and reference the stories covered by your own reporters?
are you implying Lovett is the reason Mizzou had no throwing game? I think his numbers spoke for themselves
I had a second part of my message that I left off cause it was getting too long - I dont judge Georgia or anyone for doing that. Shoot, if my team was looking for a wideout and Lovett went on the board, it would be malpractice to not try to get him. It's just... sad and frustrating. Not the same thing anymore, is it? Just root for him the same as we do
And you think mizzou fans weren't upset because...? It seems like alabama fans aren't upset at all, or they wouldn't be jumping down our throats.
I think Alabama took a gamble on a talented player with red flags that likely came up in his recruitment and development. I wasn't even alive when Jed Frost was a player and it has been 30 years since he was on the team - does that sound like the same situation? Either Alabama fans call for an investigation, or they accept this is a part of their brand. They can complain all they want for being ridiculed for it, but it's honestly their choice.
Read my last sentence again - Mizzou fans have, and will continue, to hold its program to account for its sins. To the detriment of its wins and losses. I think Mizzou has the only fanbase in the SEC that can say that. It's been painful to watch the decline since 2015 but in this moment, I'm glad. We might not have earned much since then, but a free conscience is one.
Go offffffffffff, it's not our fault that your admin screwed up. We're just pointing out what you don't want to acknowledge. Can't bribe mizzou fans into silence.
The antlers might be crass, but where's the lie? Were they the ones who killed that woman and left her kid an orphan? There are guilty parties, but they aren't wearing "mizzou" or "Antlers" on their shirts, jersies or sport coats.
Lots of bama fans saying that they care about the family. Oh yeah? So why are you so so so eager to kick the story under the rug. You think the program that recruited him, ran a background check on him, had no idea at all what he was capable of or who his friends were? No wonder Oats wanted those kids removed. If you cared at all about the family (and werent cynically hoping the spotlight would just disappear with your hopes and prayers), you'd be in the mizzou student section joining us. We have held our admin responsible for sins a lot less severe than murder.
Boohoo, Alabama isn't everyone's favorite team, in this case, you're taunted because you deserve it. Own it, do better, move forward.
You don't think Tavorus could take the starting role? The guy showed incredible upside this season in minimal snaps...he's dang fast. Honestly would be happy with those two splitting snaps.
Hope Georgia enjoys Lovett. He's a good kid and extremely funny. And yea overlooked by no fault of his own. It's painful to read them listing off his Mizzou stats like this is some feather in Georgia's cap. Mizzou and its fans legitimately cared about the kid - developed him, helped his family. We know what it's like coming from the east side and how hard it is to escape, so nobody is going to begrudge the kid for finding compensation or a ready-made offense. But it sucks to watch a program just swoop in and snap up a pre-packaged, fully-developed first round pick and claim his story and accomplishments in black and gold as their own. Georgia better take care of the kid and not recruit over him. He's worked way too hard for that.
Honestly, I'm not at the stage in my career where I have any income to donate, so I can't claim to be an expert. In the past, people have been saying that boosters are going to keep shelling out the cash cause it would just be given as taxes anyway. Sounds like there are mixed opinions. If you're right, a market collapse could happen, which is honestly good for any team not injecting gold bullion into the portal.
Exactly, preseason rankings are just beauty pageants lobbied by media execs - they should mean zilch, but it brings in cash. A&M and Oklahoma were the kids everyone wanted to bring to prom until they got back to the hotel room and showed they were about 6 inches short of a good time
Agreed - all SEC schools have many blue chippers at each position, mizzou shouldn't recruit the same?
why on gods green earth would anyone pick aTm to be the favorite to win the west - what are the vegas odds they're even bowl elegible?
Boosters are absolutely overpaying but they might not care if they are just seeking a tax exemption. Don't know if the market could collapse in that context, but it definitely seems unstable/unsustainable. Who knows. Bigger problem has to be these desperate, rogue boosters. These folks have the ability to really eff up their programs - stirring up controversy in the locker room, recruiting the wrong players for the coach, getting schools in legal jeopardy. This is gonna blow up real bad for somebody and I have my popcorn ready
I know its not as flashy as a big name transfer, but keeping talent on the roster has got to be the more critical piece in this transfer puzzle
Oh no ranked in #3 preseason and not #1, how will they recover /s. But seriously, we all know pre-season is bogus, always has been. Yall have a great team, for sure. Nobody can argue that. These writers just have to put something on paper. We should all be a lot more mad at aTm being a preseason #6 after doing literally nothing to deserve it the season before while TCU had to fight for any respect or attention.
God I hope that USC is the first team the SEC goes after once it gets the blind fold off and their pants up
A&M loses the entire population of college station to the transfer portal and he thinks they are a lock for the natty. How much of your money are those players leaving with? Here are some of the greener pastures your your 4- and 5-star recruits (many freshman) are leaving for: SMU, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Louisville, and ***New Mexico State*** Yeah you're a lock for the championship game for sure.
Let's not even bother playing the games, hiring petrino earns you an automatic birth to the playoff. That's why he's been rotting in Springfield, Missouri all these years
Dude it's like marrying a woman who cheated on her man for you. She's just gonna cheat again. The fact that Petrino signed a contract with UNLV and then immediately left for aTm should send off alarm bells to everyone in the athletics department. Like, the writing is on the wall. He has not changed one bit. It's so painfully obvious how this story ends. First Jimbo's massive MASSIVE buyout, now the Petrino hire. I feel bad for the fans cause this administration just doubled down with another bad decision. It is mind boggling.
