OSU was 6-1 before sanders was injured. All big12 last season, 12 wins, dude took a beating this season. I’m not saying all ou and osu fans are like this, but wouldn’t you leave, too. Ole miss will have no problem taking the guy who was the best player, not best qb, not best offensive player, best PLAYER (Rodriguez is good and Oliver might develop into nfl star, but still) for the past two seasons and winning games with. Better not be a frickkn egg bowl. I blame Gundy, primarily.
No matter what, two state bulldogs are getting a ring. I’m thinking philly in this one, two UGA rookies will have rings, too if that happens. You take slay, suh, fletcher (FIX YOUR GD MODERATION) and Reddik off philly, the age of that team drops sharply. Of course, for now, so does that defense.
I just looked, 50% from the floor, and 7-24 from arc. They wont get a lot better on the outside, but that volume should be target in regulation. When that plays, 18-24 pts from threes woul be excellent.
OU might be a little better than I’ve seen to date (YIKES), but we pulled it off with extra basketball. Efficient on offense, dominant on defense, 7 blocks, 30 defensive rebounds. Only gave them 20 foul shots, we got to cut down the turnovers, though.
I don’t understand the obsession with raising canes, Zaxby offers more options, Abners is better. Overpriced limited menu, salty and terrible dipping sauce. Y’all can have that t r a s h
I kind of think potential DPOY Chris jones has a chance to provide the a lot of sec related material. He could very well be a difference maker in this game, and he has some help.
So, you’re just one of those ?
While the win at Lawrence was impressive, OU is awful. Game tempo is very different between sec and big12, though MSU plays slower like most of the big12. I think it is a winnable game, but our shooting is awful. They HAVE to reduce tcu percentage, and do it without gifting too many trips to the line. A good performance, win or lose, marks an improvement over last season.
I don’t understand how Burrow doesn’t get more love. Everybody talks about hurts and Mahomes, but those teams are stacked. I think burrow might better fit the most valuable tag right now.
Even if Dallas moved on, unless this astounding interception mess continues, he would get several options. There might be several qbs better than Dak, but there are more who are worse and several teams this season who will jump at Carr and Garrapillo, decent qbs who might not have daks flashes, but are more consistent. Carr just had a rough season, and he will likely fetch 30M+ from his next stop. An avg qb can win you a lot of games. Flip side is Dak will be 30 after next season, so he might not have that many years left in the nfl any way it goes
I wasn’t talking about a season, just in general. It really doesn’t matter if cowboys fans are “tired of constant losing in the playoffs”. That’s been going on for over two decades, and they still spend their money. Fact is , Dak has been in 6 playoff games over four seasons. He was good in four, including two of the losses (I don’t give too much but due credit for tat performance against Tampa bay, that team is bad and Dallas should still be embarrassed for opening week). He has been bad in both of the games against San Francisco, and they might have won without the two int. I am fairly objective about it, he’s a decent qb, he has flashes of brilliance and moments of wtf. Of 32 starting qbs (roughly), I could put him anywhere from 10-15, though this season’s drop off on return was stupefying. It’s like he forgot how to read defenses. Frustrating qb to watch from season to season. Hurts I think will be a bit more consistent though I might be wrong, sample size is small. He’s been fantastic this season
So many things wrong there, qbr wrong statistic, I didn’t say Dak was bette just might have more arm talent. Career passer rating for Dak over 98, td to int 166 - 65 (that’s after throwing 15 in 11 games). You’re comparing total yardage, Dak missed 6 games, hurts one. Dak threw for more ints AND more tds in fewer games. He’s thrown for nearly 25000 yards. He might be done, I doubt it. I never said he’s better, pretty much the opposite, hurts is likely going to have a better career, but from what I’ve seen, Dak was a better passer from the start of his career, suggesting more arm talent. They have similar completion percentages and hurts makes less mistakes than Dak recently even before this drop off.
Yeah, he had a bad year, avge qb in the nfl is good not bad
Anybody watching daks rookie season had to know hurts was a potential superstar. He’s a bigger, faster, stronger, and smarter version of dak. Dak might, and I say might (goodness the turnovers this season) have a little more arm talent, but all the positive traits we have attributed to Dak over the years, hurts has them more so, on top of being more athletic. Just like I never got Dak/Tebow comparisons, I never got the criticism of hurts, especially while he was lighting up at ou. His biggest attribute, one positves I said from the beginning, the guy doesn’t make mistakes, that is outstanding
It will all come down to the oc. I still remember 1999, first year woods was oc, we won 10 games and would have gone undefeated to Atlanta if our offense had been at least good enough to allow less points scored than our defense(seriously, our offense was directly responsible for more of our opponents points than our defense). Just wasted that defense. That was shifting drastically from a power run game to a spread. I think this transition should be smoother, and our quarterback is much better.
I agree with some, but the inclusion of the white stripes as band who is supposed to better than the eagles is mind blowing, and they are divorced. The were like a new sonny and Cher, only it was the guy with all the talent. Just know, that has destroyed my ability to respect any opinion you offer. Can’t believe I didn’t include Springsteen and the e street band above, it’s not a complete list or anything but that was a big omission. Back on that note, possible argument that the Grateful Dead, Tool, widespread panic, painters and even phish could be placed over rem, though with a lot of such groups a lack of radio play and international success in some cases cuts the other way. In no world is nirvana a “greater band” than the eagles.
Again, it’s not your fault, but bitterness only marinades the pain. Open up a window, or get outside of that basement at least. On a serious note, Metallica, Alice cooper, and I would argue even blink182 had more profound and certainly more positive influence on music in that span. And two of them weren’t even active (one not overly so) for much of that span. Glen buxton alone has impacted and influenced rock more than REM. Not everybody licks the ground where Dave grohl walks. This is not a knock on rem or nirvana, though I personally disliked Cobain, just true. Van Halen, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Skynyrd, Allman brothers, the crickets, the outlaws, Motley Crue, the eagles, RHCP, even Green Day all easy to rank ahead of REM. And lest we forget the frickin Everly brothers, the Experience, asleep at the wheel, and on and on, journey, foreigner. Your name drops are interesting, as stayleys vocals are not very reflective of REM and Cantrell was largely responsible for the direction of the lyrics and music, particularly on their two biggest albums. Yorke is English, but that doesn’t negate that all three are labeled as grunge, one took his own life, another nearly destroyed his band before over dosing. Not the accolades you might think, though I guess yorke is highly regarded (I’m not a big Radiohead fan). Alice In Chains is definitely on my playlist, and they definitely made a splash, but still, Stayley was mostly lauded for his vocals, though angry chair was his creation (I could be wrong there). REM was extremely successful over a long span, we’re influencing other musicians, but that alone does not support a GOAT label. Just because you love them and they had far reaching appeal doesn’t automatically make that so. There are bigger, longer standing, and more influential bands from this country. Also, influential and great are not the same.
Ok, that looks promising. I think I like the direction the hires are pointing. As a long time State fan, I long to se a 1000 yd back. The air raid was great, leach (loving memory) did the job of fixing a quickly deteriorating program. But the few times State has success, they do it bringing physicality on both sides of the ball. Dak helped shows us what we can do if can throw it at the same time. Shame installing a new offense almost always involves growing pains, but if we can run the ball effectively we know Rogers can light up a defense. We still might have that big year next season
I did not read last week’s mailbag. But my heart goes out to anyone whose life experiences have led them to the belief that REM is the greatest American “rock” band. I am sorry. They have some good stuff, been very successful, and have arguably the greatest breakup/have a good cry song ever. But no, just, my prayers are with you.
Cistrunk is interesting, we could use som depth at lb
I figured the auburn rumors were more likely. I didn’t think dart was outstanding, but I imagine he has a leg up her. Sanders is a proven commodity and extremely athletic, though. Wonder if a transfer is coming in the spring?
This is great news. Hope whatever reason he was considering transferring was resolved.
First, if that agreement was ever made, whomever made it should be held accountable. Florida should release the kid, they don’t want him now. Second, there are maybe 5 players actually made 7 figures last year. Only 2 of the top 5 earners were football players. Bryce young was the top earner in football 2021, less than $2M. Top earner in college athlete nil is female gymnast in California. Shut up with this nonsense. Stupid all around
Two three stars, to be fair, and Jones was still a fairly highly rated recruit.
The whole rashad thing aside, what is this drivel?
I’m still trying to figure out that 2.5 point spread. On what planet was this not going to be a blowout?
