3 SEC quarterbacks crack top 5 in 247Sports’ comprehensive rankings

The quarterback position is the most important in football.

If you have one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, you are in a great spot for both a conference championship run and potentially making the playoff. There are exceptions to the rule when you have an elite defense, but great quarterbacks make the biggest impact.

247Sports ranked their top-131 starting quarterbacks and the top five featured three SEC talents, led by the returning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young ranked at No. 1.

Along with Young are Arkansas’ K.J. Jefferson ranked at 4 and Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker ranked at 5.

While the SEC didn’t have any other quarterbacks in the top 10,  they did have five others in the top-20 with Will Rogers II (11), Stetson Bennett IV (13), Anthony Richardson (14), Will Levis (18), and Spencer Rattler (20).

    • Hey Florida Softballs, what is your reason for that remark? If our offensive line can protect him, he will be back in the Heisman conversation (near the top).

      • i'd imagine he's projecting just like you.

same question for you. what's so different heading into this year for rattler that you believe he'll meet your lofty expectations? oklahoma fans and a large contingency of the media had expectations that he was a frontrunner for the heisman heading into last year...while we saw how that turned out.

        btw, #20 out of 131 really isn't a slight.

    • Rattler has a big upside "If" he can get some good blocking from that O-Line. He needed a fresh start. He has more potential than the Cocks have had at QB in a long time.

  • Don’t tell the I diot Ronnie mexicorndogron auburn fan. All the accolades for hooker contradict his 100’s of hooker bashing posts. Little Ronnie thinks Finley will win the heisman!
