Eating frog legs is not a punishment....rather more of a delicacy. The meat is very tender with a mild taste. I bet Shaq thought it was the best chicken he ever had
Fisher, Durkin and Petrino is definitely the least loveable combo oil money can buy.
names, did I get to you coz you're the one doing sidesteps next to him?
Says everyone who knows the difference between dancing and taking four steps to the side
The headline should say "watch Saban take four steps to the left and right" This aint dancing....just ask Brian Kelly *lol
The point is that Auburn can win big in college football and it needs a game-changing head coach! Of course, Coach Prime will need assistants who will do the "coaching" but like I said before, recruiting is the lifeblood of any college program and he would immediately bring top talent to the plains.....something Auburn is lacking for years!!
Was about time..... College football is all about recruiting. Hence, the new coach has to attract the top players. Coach Prime, please take over!!!!
Rest easy Coach! The Auburn people loved him too
Wow....half of Harsin's first recruiting class transferred out. This also means that at least half of his class was not SEC level
You can think of him what you want but he is a master of using the media for playing the recruiting game. His celebritiy status is appealing to young kids and he knows what kind of an impact he has on them. He also has strong connections to the business world which fits well with todays NIL deals. I believe he could become a NIL rainmaker for any Power 5 football program, including the SEC.
Kiffin was one of the first who said that the transfer portal is actually a free agency without the rules. While most coaches hesitated to treat it that way, he understood it and used it to his best benefit.
No player is happy when they don't get the playing time they desire but I doubt that Harsin promised anything. I think he knows exactly how to use his words. Yes he said that they wanted to run the ball more but he didn't say who and how much more. And from what I've read form the observers at practice, they all said that Finley looked better than Calzada, so Calzada probably knows why he didn't win the job. Giving Ashford a package for a change up was also worth a try. But after Game 3 we all know that the 2 QB system has not worked out and Finley has not progressed as Harsin advertised. If he doesn't give Calzada a chance against Mizzou now......and give one the best RB combo in the SEC at least 20 carries......and lose......then I hope he will also find the right words by saying goodbye
I just want Harsin to leave asap He is and never was the right guy. If losing to Mizzou is what it takes then so be it....
Well we all know Harsin is not the right guy! But Deion Sanders?? No and no!!!! Btw......did Kiffin mentioned something with a pine box already?
Yes, poor QB play is a big problem but giving your best offensive player zero touches for a full quarter is a scheme factor
Anyone- since the Birmingham Bowl - could see the offense is inconsistent, ineffective and it crumbles down completely in the red zone. Why not Harsin? Apparently he thought to himself "This is good enough"! Now SEC play starts and it will get even more embarrasing if he sticks with his direction. Will he ever swallow his foolish pride and make changes to take that offense in a different direction? If none of that shows against Mizzou then he needs to get booted immediately!!!
You never make tradiditionalists happy with new uniforms but the theme is spot on!
Pittman has done an incredibly good job at Arky and is definitely a top20 coach
Saban cried because it was his fault by taking the kick
That's why we will see Ashford at some point as the starter. He is at least capable to run away from defenders and make something happen with his feet
57929names, you are buying too much into that. You might recall that Nix did beat Bama and STILL didn't save his job....
As for Auburn, I agree with the article. Still think that Finley will start but we already know Finley and Calzada are just mediocre QB's who might pull out one great game but in total are not good enough to be successful in the SEC. Both will get us maybe one or two SEC wins and that's it. Certainly not enough for Harsin to keep his job and I he knows that. That's why I think Harsin will give Ashford some read option packages in the beginning to put more pressure on defenses. These packages will expand more and more and just before the first SEC game we will have a new starter.....
Definitely so.....but back then Bo Nix seemed to be the chosen one thus a much tougher competition than Plumlee.
If his decision based solely on playing time he made the right decision with Ole Miss. Plumlee was one of the weaker competition in the SEC at that time. Still stupid to make it sound like it was a mistake to go there. They loved him at Oxford and he did have success as a player and as a team.
You cannot compare Pearl with Harsin. Pearl turned basketball around solely on recruiting. Of course he is given a free hand to operate without anyone trying to pull the strings in the background but he knows how to create a bond with recruits and his enthusiasm carries over in his recruitung success. Harsin on the contrary is a good coach but he does not have the soft skills to be succsessful in recruiting. Nowadays you have to be more than just a good coach especially when you want to win the recruiting battles. Especially in the south you have to understand that a nice BBQ is more relevant to a recruit than a two hour monologue about your football philosophy. I think Harsin understands that now and I just hope he will get the time to show that he can adapt to that.
Well if he cuts the list down to 3 teams and hits it I might be impressed but you don't need to be an expert with a blue-chip-ratio method to come up with a list of 15(!!) possible teams. What a joke, that's not even worth an article.
Being a student athlete at my time in college I came across many college towns, including all of the SEC of course.......excluding College Station,TX and Columbia,MO because they weren't in the SEC back then. I have to say that Athens,GA had the best college town atmosphere within the SEC. Great bars and clubs......it's simply the sin city of the south!! Nashville is a really nice place to hang out but I don't consider Nashville being a college town. On the other side, Columbia,SC had no charm of a college town at all.
