Jailen Ruth will be donning the black and gold next season. The 3-star linebacker from Florida revealed on Early Signing Day that he’s committing to Vanderbilt.

The 6-3, 195-pound Ruth is considered to be the nation’s 81st best linebacker according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Ruth flipped his commitment from Washington State, whom he dropped in November. Ruth additionally held offers from Iowa and a variety of Group of 5 programs.

Ruth was The Gainesville Sun small school all-area Defensive Player of the Year in 2021. During that season, Ruth amassed 102 tackles, 17 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 6 fumble recoveries.

Ruth is now the 2nd linebacker signee for Vanderbilt in the Class of 2023. The other is local prospect Ethan Crisp out of Mount Juliet. Vanderbilt is also adding Stanford edge transfer Aeneas DiCosmo to the roster.
