Vanderbilt sees veteran defender, team captain enter transfer portal
Vanderbilt received some difficult news on Friday.
Team captain Elijah McAllister shared on social media his decision to enter the transfer portal. McAllister spent 5 seasons on the Commodores’ roster and will be spending his final year of eligibility elsewhere.
McAllister thanked Derek Mason and Clark Lea for helping him “mature as a football player on the field, and as a person off the field.”
Commodore Nation THANK YOU. Not the ending I expected but you will always have my LOVE & GRATITUDE ??❤️

Huge thanks to the staff here at Vanderbilt they have helped me grow on and off the field. I truly do mean that. Team 3 is going to be great I say that with confidence. This is now all in God’s hands ??

McAllister finished the 2022 season with 16 tackles, 3 TFLs, and 1 forced fumble. The former Vanderbilt captain will be a quality pickup for a team seeking defensive line depth.
