Really? Again. I live in SC and I see none of this WOKE stuff happening here. Go to your room son.
AMEN. No divisions will change the calculus as it did in the Pac-12 last season when 2 former south division members, SC and Utah met in the champ game. The B1G sticking with divisions for another year is IMO, senseless. The East champ will again blow out the West champ in a nothing burger game.
It is the NFL model with no rules and no one in control. What happened to Greg Sankey's 'Transition Committee?' Expected a recommendation that G5/P5 football separate from the NCAA and have its own governance structure.
GT8 - I have my money down on LSU winning the SEC W this season and almost had the guts to bet the Tigers to win the SEC. Of course, the SEC calculus will change with OK/TX possibly joining next season and getting rid of divisions.
I think FSU gets jocked in the return game vs LSU this season.
In the B1G what team did Mertz hurt? He's all of a sudden going to be a star in the SEC? How about NO!
Sad situation for Bennett in Austin. I am very surprised he is not playing in the Senior Bowl.
How did the poor people make out in London before the 'Peelers' were formed? How about the plebians in Rome? A city that never had a police department? For the most part, police protect the innocent from law-breakers. Saddens me that a person who identifies with Libertarian South Carolina posts this WOKE dribble.
Ron, the only 'flux' I see is whether Bama or LSU wins the SEC W? I have money line $ down on LSU. Think it's UGA again in the SEC E. If OK, TX makes the jump next year which is a real possibility this could be the last SEC season with divisions, no?
The rooms at USC(w), UW, Oregon, Utah, possibly Oregon State, AZ, UCLA, and perhaps ASU are darn good or have the potential to be good. The conference has the returning Heisman winner returning and a guy who threw for more yards, Penix at UW, coming back
A+M canceled an H+H with Oregon. Ducks fans would much rather play an H+H with Auburn. Don't want Petrino near the coeds in Eugene.
Ron, H+H series I'd love to see is Auburn vs Oregon. These 2 have played 2 nail-biter games. One was when the Tigers won the BCS and the other in Dallas when Nix threw a late TD pass for the Auburn victory. With Nix coming back an Auburn/Oregon game this season would be fantastic. Especially if Oregon transfer Ashford was starting at QB for the Tigers.
The Pac-12 conference in 2023 has top to bottom the best QBs. 6 Pac-12 teams were in the Committee's final top 25. Meanwhile 3 B1G teams were ranked.
Hell of a question. 1 I have also asked without reply.
The Ducks play 3 of the above teams; CU and OR ST at home and at TX Tech.
Sorry, my lead: What happened to the Transition Committee chaired by Greg Sankey and the Ohio U AD? It was my understanding that the committee was going to recommend that G5/P5 CFB break off from the NCAA and create its own rules, regulations, and enforcement of the same. Sorry for the upscrew. I wish this site had an Edit function. But at least this site allows comments when all of the other Saturday sites do not.
Greg Sankey would be the perfect person to lead CFB away from the dysfunctional NCAA. To anyone good enough to reply, thank you.
This was not a shot at A+M, an AAU member institution, but at the entirety of what CFB has become. I blame the game and not the player. But I'm an old guy and I liked it better when the Rose, Orange, Cotton, and Sugar Bowl mattered every season. I personally never had a problem with co-champions. And I liked football played in the sunshine instead of late at night.
Could well be but I believe Commish Sankey is still antiFreeze.
How many Nobel Prize-winning professors could be hired for $9M a year?
