I've wanted to see Tenn/Virginia Tech forever. This should be their out of conference rival. Geographically too close not to be.
Milton should start game one easy. He'll be a sixth year senior who has been in high pressure games already and he'll be 23/24 when the season starts whereas Nico will be 18 and hasn't seen the speed of the college game. I always fear for true freshman starters because they often get shell shocked and some never recover. A lot of difference in the maturity of 18 vs 23. (you hope anyway)
Milton has all the tools and seems to be more and more confident in the offense so I can't see him not having the reigns day one.

Such a great success story and humble kid. He bleeds orange too. Reading the stories of him working so hard with Milton before the orange bowl speak volumes. He will be missed.

I'm anxious to see Bazooka Joe and Squirrel to get a little taste of next year but TN isn't winning this one. The team that is there now wouldn't win ten games and just isn't that good.
Ah well, takes nothing away from a fun season.

uhhhh why couldn't he have decided this after the orange bowl? I really wanted him to play in the bowl game and be subpar but oh no, now Clemson has a stud playing QB. Good thing TN's pass defense is so stout.

Happy for coach Golesh. Just like CovingtonDawg said it won't change the offensive philosophy but he was a great play caller and that will be missed.
It’s my understanding that he is gone now and is assuming his duties at USF immediately and will not coach the bowl game.
I don’t blame him though, like dvhill said, he needs to get down there and start recruiting. Best of luck coach.
I think it simply has to do with bama being two plays away from being undefeated and TN got crushed twice. I would only be upset if Bama got into the playoffs but them getting the Sugar Bowl and TN getting the Orange is whatever.
What’s wild is he wasn’t even the receiver Vols fans were excited about when the year started. Everybody was much more excited to see what Tillman would do.
But he showed out on the biggest stage and turned in a monster performance against Bama so here we are.
I agree. The USC loss was unforgivable. No one who gets 63 points scored on them deserves to be in the playoffs. If TN would’ve handled business at USC they’d be sitting pretty in the 4 spot.
I think #3 UGA in your scenario takes it. They’re sneaky good this year.
The final score there didn’t reflect how that game went. UGA played conservatively the entire second half. They could have easily scored as much as USC did had they wanted to. TN had zero answers for them.
It has been a great season and I’ve enjoyed it a lot. After 15 years of terrible results this is been a breath of fresh air. I hope we can build on this and keep it going. Now it’s time to prepare to play K State in the sugar bowl.
