So did the UF boosters. “When I said six zeroes I was including those to the right of the decimal.”
How is it prima dona to ask for the money that was promised to you?
How is it the kids fault that UF couldn’t pay what they promised him?
Not sayin Milton can’t do well, but it feels like a lot of Vol fans think he’ll pick up right where Hendon left off. I’ll wait and see. Milton was the guy. 2 years ago until he wasn’t and Hooker got his shot. Hopefully Milton’s deep accuracy has improved since the first Pitt game. I’m very much in wait and see mode with UT. High ceiling, but also low floor.
Never knew porto-potty cleaners were known as "Biomedical Engineers" in Tennessee. That's pretty clever. Isn't it interesting that Georgia has more all-time wins than Tennessee? And Auburn... Isn't it interesting that our super old quarterback is just 2 months older than Hendon Hooker? Isn't it also interesting that the other thing that's 25 years old is Tennessee's last national title.
Normally, yeah. A loss like that indicates a team didn't belong in the first place. What makes TCU different is that they beat Michigan, which no one really doubted was worthy of being there. So they "proved themselves" just before getting destroyed. If Michigan had blown them out, then it would be hard in the future for them to get in. Ironically, with UT and OK coming to the SEC, TCU is now the "powerhouse" program of the BIG12 and we could actually see more of them in this the BIG12 Champ / Playoff contender role.
“Dear other team, please beat the team that we weren’t good enough to beat.”
Making millions does not buy you a 25th hour in the day. There’s still a tipping point of a coaches capacity to manage bowls/playoffs, recruiting portal players, keeping players out of the portal, recruiting high schoolers, hiring/firing staff….
Then move early signing day to August. It’s specifically December that’s the problem.
I know he’s not wearing a boot or using crutches but big O seems to be limping still. Will be surprised if he’s available to go.
Good. If this is expected then there’s no excuses. Either you do your job and win, or you’re a failure. You knew the task and couldn’t do the job. Let’s see what Knowles is made of.
The best way to fix the Heisman is to fix the voters. Only give votes to people who are engaged with the sport. I firmly believe that the day-to-day visitors of this site know more about this football season than 70% of voters. This would go a long way towards eliminating "stat voters" and would hopefully garner more attention to players who truly impact the games their in. Caleb Williams was the king of stats this year - Lincoln Riley knows how to get his QB's into the Heisman race. I would say Max Duggan was more impactful to the sport. I would say Hendon Hooker was more impactful to his programs turnaround and the overall SEC landscape this year (which by default is a major impact to the sport.) If anything, successful teams should have a HARDER time having a Heisman candidate because every player makes significant impacts. Few are the situations where you have a single player carrying the whole team towards championships like days of the past (Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, Jameis Winston, DeShawn Watson, etc.)
Let’s just hand the award to Williams already so Stet can get back to work.
IF UGA were to look in the portal they would do it now - not wait till January. Getting a QB who theoretically would be bext year’s starter would mean gettIng him on campus asap to participate in bowl practices and start learning the playbook. That said, I don’t think UGA will be in the portal for a QB. We have talent and depth. Something we didn’t have when we took newman and JT.
Can’t really fault the players for lack of development considering the coaching carousel of craziness that the Auburn admin put them through. How much talent did the Auburn university waste by playing musical chairs with coaches? Feel bad for the guy that he didn’t chose somewhere with stability and solid coaching.
Addition of 2 running backs may actually give OSU false hope that they can be successful running the ball. This would be an advantage for Georgia because they are excellent against the run. Beating Georgia in the air is the only way to do it. OSU has more talent in this area too. I do see OSU as a threat, but they’re going to have to fight for it and pop a big play or two to stay in it.
Many will find that it’s best not to comment negatively on the transfer issues of other teams. It’s going to happen to everyone, every year, from now on. It’s a new world.
OSU is just the next in line of traditional competitors that Georgia has to prove itself against. 2017 - Auburn, Oklahoma 2021 - Bama, Michigan, Clemson 2022 - Tennessee, Oregon, LSU, and now OSU
Adam, there must be a typo. GWhite told me Tennessee intentionally lost to UGA so they could backdoor into the playoffs, but there’s not a 1,2,3, or 4 next to Tennessee’s name. Please fix it. No way gwhite was just full of it. He had all those stats.
Not saying USC totally deserving, but I hate to see any team benefit from not making their own championship game. Take an L and sit at home, should not win you an advantage. I think championship games should only improve a teams’ standing and a loss in the Championship game should be seen as a non-loss - ie can only help to win but can’t hurt to lose.
Wow, does your mom know you talk like that? Might want to go to bed at your bed time so you’re less grumpy tomorrow.
Heard he was neck in neck with Rhule for the job but this had to have taken the air out of his chances.
OSU beat Notre Dame, that’s it. They have 3 wins over teams better than .500.
Committee would have to have instant amnesia to forget Michigan’s 19-17 win over Illinois. Sure, Georgia has looked slow at times, but has never needed a last second field goal to win a game.
I know this wasn’t intended to be a thoughtful comment, but I have to point out that Ole Miss’ schedule is backloaded with all the easy teams up front and the challenging games at the end. Nothing has changed about the team or their performance. They just didn’t play anyone till Bama.
Surprised I'm not seeing many AR15 comparisons. Both QB's are athletic and can whip the ball downfield without much effort. And both are wildly inaccurate.
