As far as SEC West titles since 2000... LSU won in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2019, 2022. Auburn won in 2004, 2010, 2013, 2017. Arkansas won in 2002 and 2006. Alabama won in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2014-2016, 2018, 2020, 2021.
You don't think a new OC, or DC for that matter will have the freedom to put his own imprint in the program? Kind of like Joe Brady did alongside Ensminger? I would think they could put their own stamp on it? Unless you are speaking of using the same verbiage?
Doing what Kelly did Year 1 after inheriting 38 scholarship players should have been named Coach of the Year. That being said, that program is going nowhere but up. Kelly will have another SEC West title under his belt in 2023, 2024 at the worst along with an SEC championship and no less than a national title game appearance.
At least the SEC is laying claim to more women's basketball and baseball national titles along with football.
Hmm...How successful was Grantham at each of his stops? Seems Florida may have been his least successful stint? He may or may not have success in Tuscaloosa. A case of pick your poison. Jeremy "McDonald's" Pruitt and a black eye, or Third and Grantham?
Well, the LSU men's basketball team isn't faring very well at all, but the LSU women's basketball team is playing red hot basketball! 21-0 and counting! And baseball season is just around the corner for the #1 LSU Tigers baseball team!
Nope...OU and LSU deserve the credit for those guys' development, not where they transferred from.
I suspect that whoever it is will have success at Alabama. Same with the DC hire. Just how much in Year 1 is the question. If whoever comes in has close to the same amount of success Denbrock and House had Year 1, they will be just fine.
Saban must really need McDonald's Pruitt. Guess Schumann is off the table. How about the OC? Slade Nagle possibly?
LSU and Clemson meet at Clemson in 2025 and at LSU in 2026. Would love to see an LSU-Michigan home and home as well as a series with Ohio State. In 2024, LSU gets UCLA in Baton Rouge and USC in Vegas.
FSU looked much better in 2022 than they have in several years. They'll only get better in 2023. Problem is, so will LSU. I think the Noles have a very good chance of winning their division, possibly the ACC with a 11-2 record, including a loss to LSU and ACC CG win.
I could care less for either team, but I will be pulling for the Chiefs since they do have an LSU player (Edwards-Helaire). Bengals got hosed in some ways, yet it was a bonehead play by Ossai hitting Mahomes out of bounds or it would be the Bengals heading to Arizona.
Your Vols also gave up 49 points to a non-lethal Bama offense... LSU gave up 31. LSU is the biggest threat to Alabama, not Tennessee. You need to be more worried about being a threat to UGA. Then again, LSU could be UGAs biggest threat also.
Bennett must not care about his NFL chances or he would be a responsible role model. Will Todd Monken turn down any NFL job to stay in Athens? Harold Perkins will be the best defensive player in the SEC, and potentially the country. The SEC QB class for 2023 is still in good hands with guys like Daniels, Jefferson, Milton, and Rogers. The rest have catching up to do. Rattler may take another big step. Bama is still the standard, but LSU is the team to beat in the West. Would be nice to see another UGA-LSU SEC CG in December.
Mullen or Slade Nagle should be the two considerations for OC. If Lebby is staying out, and if Mullen isn't playing sleight of hand, then Saban should put most of his eggs in Nagle's basket and get him while he can.
Can't forget about Walk-On's that was started by two former LSU Walk-On's. Also, my pick is Bengals-49ers in the Super Bowl with the Bengals finally bringing a Lombardi Trophy home after 3 tries vs the 49ers. Bengals also have Jonah Williams from Bama(injured) and Lael Collins from LSU (injured). That's why Carmack from Clemson is starting now at tackle.
Don't forget that LSU lit UGA up for nearly 500 yards passing and 30 points.
Mertz is gonna be Atlas and shoulder the load for the Gators. He is He-Man personified. He will take down the evil Skeletor that is Kirby Smart.
Brock Bowers will undoubtedly be one of the top returning players in the country, if not the top one. There are others who will be considered as the new season gets going...Malik Nabers, Jayden Daniels, Blake Corum, Caleb Williams, Jared Verse, KJ Jefferson among others...
