If you don't start (or even include) your "Texas A&M's five things it will take..." with improved Oline and improved LB play you look a bit ignorant.
A&M v Oregon??? Meh. I've been wanting to see a Penn State home and home.
Ummm, also not a word from Adam about the Aggies taking it to Auburn on their home court and sitting at 6-1 in conference just behind bama and UT.
I agree CFB has plenty of problems, but I'll never have a problem with athletic departments paying what the market will bear within their budget.
FYI, last stat I saw, A&M tied with Vandy in the SEC for most Nobel Prize winning professors (8).
Ignorant comment. Professor salaries have nothing to do with the self-sufficient athletic department. A&M has plenty of other revenue sources to hire professors.
Yes. A big Aggie win. Remaining schedule sets up well for a chance to get 14 conference wins.
True. As much as I hate federal government involvement, there absolutely must be an antitrust exemption for the NCAA (or some new governing body) to deal with college athletes.
O'Gara at his most ridiculous. "Do teams have monetary gain during an 8-month offseason if they’re treated as one of the nation’s best?" - Being ranked 21-25 in a preseason poll carries ABOLUTELY no weight.
IDK, Buzz seems to be doing well enough to take the Gators down twice.
So no mention of the highest rated (or 2nd best according to service) RB in Rueben Owens to help replace Achane. No mention of Layden Robinson returning along with every starting (when healthy) O-linemen.
Scuttlebutt is Lucas is one of the few portal guys Aggie coaches have put a considerable effort to keeping in Maroon & White. May not be a done deal.
A large portion of that 2022 recruiting staff were hired away by other programs (Oregon) so the new staff along with a bad season definitely had an effect on what was planned to be a small class. If they can get the OC job filled and close on 10-12 good portal transfers for depth, it could still be a pretty good class, all things considered.
I count 18 returning that played enough to burn their redshirt. Almost all of those 18 contributed in the regular rotation.
NCAA is toothless and scared of going to court so they simply hand out waivers to everyone.
Jimbo talks fast. I'm betting he was talking about three separate problems. (1) No consistency with NIL rules, (2) when you are allowed to enter the portal, (3) so much tampering.
IDK, I have seen a certain school to the West advertising paying O-linemen for simply joining the team.
I was referring to Rebel's comment regarding "and that doesn’t even factor in players with no more eligibility".
FYI, I may have missed someone, but I can't find one player on this season's roster that doesn't have the choice to come back. 2020 did not count against eligibility.
The "NIL money" take is absolutely wrong when it comes to Chris Marshall, Denver Harris, and PJ Williams. I can only see a couple of players in good standing with the Aggies that may have entered the portal with money in mind. Much more about playing time.
The kid is an Aggie for life. Never wavered from the day he committed. Getting a Masters from A&M and going on for a Doctorate is highly impressive. Congrats, Chase.
What yapping are you talking about? Aggies played poorly against Arky and very poorly against App State. Seems to prove what I said. Arky is not as good as many thought.
Aggies won by making fewer mistakes in a game filled with mistakes on both sides. Call it luck if you want, but every play counts (Oink Doinks, too). But good luck Saturday (and I rarely wish luck to anything Arky).
I think the fact that we played as poorly as we did and still ACTUALLY beat y’all shows that you're really not that good. But good luck Saturday.
Jimbo didn't say it. Finebaum said it, and SDS got it wrong writing it up.
