Traore, Westry and Donaldson have not helped much this season. The loss of Smith and Kessler were apparently too big of shoes to fill.
I finally found all the names. In the mid to late 1950's, it was Dan Daniels, then Tom Hamlin who were the play by play announcers for the Tigers with Charlie Davis as the color Analyst. This was during Shug's glory years including a National Championship in '57. In 1960 Buddy Rutledge took over the play by play calling until 1968, with Charlie Davis. Gary Sanders took over in 1968 and worked with Charlie Davis until 1970, then Gusty Yearout as Color Analyst guy. Gary was with Auburn until 1978 when Paul Ellen took over play by play duties for Auburn for two seasons 1979 and 1980. Mike Kolen, former Auburn and Miami Dolphins LB, was the Color Analyst. In 1981 Jim Fyfe took over with Pat Sullivan as the Color analyst until about 1986, then Charlie Trotman took over, then Stan White around 2000. In 2003, Jim Fyfe died and Rod Bramblett became play by play man in 2004 (with Stan White as Color analyst) until 2019, when he and his wife were killed in a car wreck. Andy Burcham took over with again Stan White as color analyst until now, when he retired.Jason Campbell now will step in to that role.
That line was: "You're so right Carl" for the Auburn football review host Carl Stevens who preceded Phil Snow.
I can name a lot of the color analysts through the years for Auburn, from the late 50's to present, but I do not know all the play by play guys. I know most of them though. I will name who I remember and if anyone can fill in the blanks comment please: Color Analysts- Charlie Davis, Gusty Yearout, Pat Sullivan, Mike Kolen, Charlie Trotman, Stan White, Jason Campbell. Announcers: ? Gary Sanders, ? Jim Fyfe, Rod Bramblett, Andy Burcham.
This is ridiculous. UGA is cared for better than most peoples pets. They might have a point with say Mike the Tiger or Ralphie the Buffalo as those are very large animals that can be dangerous if something goes wrong, but a dog? Come on!
NIL is the new thing to compete. If Illinois can't compete, then tough cookies. That is the way it goes. Auburn has to take on the rich schools like Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, and so on. We stepped up, because we had to.
Good to see my trademark phrase still being used. I coined the term "poster" to describe commenters on al.com articles back in 1998 and it took off. A lot of people are still using it. I just thought it worked and sounded better than the word commenter, or blogger. or whatever was the correct term.
It may not be all Calipari's fault, the rest of the SEC is very talented. It is hard to dominate the way they once did. That said, he needs to inspire more and complain less.
Hugh Freeze has done more in one month than Harsin, Malzahn, and Chizik did in the last 15 years. War Eagle!
We have starters, he will help with depth just like at LSU. SmartA.
Auburn took a chance that Hugh Freeze has changed or at least will stay in check. I guess Texas A&M is taking the same chance, but I believe their chance is more risky than ours.
We have been less than middle of the pack lately, but I already see a huge upward trend since freeze took over in recruiting. Auburn is on it's way back up the chain.
From the side. otherwise you will hit the handle or the seat.
The first year under Harsin our losses were close too, nearly beat Alabama. Year two was the disaster. Like I said, hope you guys have it better. We were optimistic things would get better too.
Being an Auburn fan I can say this: It looked very much like a Brian Harsin type year for the gators. For you guys sake, I hope it looks better for you in year two than it did for us.
That was Napier and Florida. I thought I was watching a Brian Harsin coached team.
I'm guessing it had to do with different philosophies about coaching the position from the new DC?
I agree. His post was embarrassing to our fans and totally uncalled for.
Looks like he could be another Shaq. He's huge! War Eagle!
Him and Etheridge make a pretty good secondary staff.
Remember when Bama played Utah, and Oklahoma, or when Auburn played UCF when nothing was on the line. Hard to get up for those games in that situation.
Kiffin burned the UT program down. Maybe they both have learned since then.
I think 8 should have been the number. I just do not believe that 9-12 is worthy to play in it. There will be a lot of blowouts.
I'd lay odds that 80% or more on here are trump supporters, so your attempt at sympathy for your post is doomed to fail. This is Saturday Down South, not California or New York.
Joseph Goodman said Auburn offering Freeze the job meant they are willing to win at all costs. Tell me Mr. Goodman, wasn't the same said about Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin?
