Dwight Phillips Jr. has some serious speed as a 4-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. On Saturday, he announced his commitment on where he will begin his college career.
A 5-foot-11 and 170-pound recruit out of Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia, Phillips announced an in-state commitment to Kirby Smart’s Bulldog program. According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Phillips projects as a running back at the next level. He checks in as the No. 4 RB nationally and the No. 13 player out of Georgia for the cycle. Phillips is also a top 75 player and is ranked the 71st overall prospect in the country.
Already, Georgia’s 2024 recruiting class is off to a flying start. Of the 9 current commitments for the Bulldogs, 7 of those players rate as top-100 prospects with 4 of the players ranked inside the top 40 in the country.
Phillips brings elite speed to the program and is a threat every time he touches the ball. His father, Dwight Phillips, was a 2004 Olympic gold medalist in the long jump.

GO DAWGS!!
Back to back Georgia buffoon …
Isn’t it interesting that Negan’s Georgia’s QB just got arrested and put in the slammer…
What an outstanding knucklehead…
Great example for young kids…
Negan… the buffoon.
lol!
Read he has a 4.28 laser-timed 40 already. Ran a 10.4 100m as a sophomore.
Kirby loves him some speed.
Who was the last UGA RB who had that kind of speed? Herschel?
This 24 class has a chance to take it to another level…
Probably. We’ve had some fast RBs, but Herschel was the only one with true world-class speed (best 100m was 10.10 in ‘82). Definitely the fastest since Keith Marshall’s 4.31 40 at the combine a few years ago.
SonicBOOOOOMMMM
This kid could run on the track team too but it might be in his best interest to focus on football.
Floriduh got a nice new wrap around LED screen for photo shoots, all we got was another top 100 commit…bummer
