Beal was a top 50 recruit that had a bad knee unjustly at the end of his senior season. It really slowed him down and he was never as quick as he was pre-injury. He didn’t medically disqualify but it did greatly affect his play. Good luck to him wherever he goes. I bet Maryland could use him.

That’s what’s worrisome about next year. Bama is losing a lot (like always) but it’s starting to get a real tall order to replace all these guys. Do they have an equal replacement for Young? No. Gibbs? No. Latu? No. Will Anderson? No. The entire defensive backfield? No. Those don’t count a lot of other talent leaving at OL/DL and LB. Not saying they dont have talented young guys they can put in. But do you think they can “next man up” the talent? I don’t think so.

Reality check. Ohio State played lights out. You have a 1st Rd QB and 2x 1st Rd wide receivers on an elite level team that LOST THEIR LAST GAME and was called SOFT FOR A MONTH BY NATL MEDIA. Yet LOST AGAIN after playing their hearts out. How often does that happen?

UGA got Miss St leading WR and Mizzou leading WR in the portal. Also signed 2 other 4 star WRs. Everyone signed on NSD but him. Looks like he was bumped from the class. Good luck to the kid.

Even if they hit on the portal how is this team not going to be worse next year? You can’t depend on a ton of true freshmen elevating to the level of all these guys leaving. The only person of note staying is Burton. Who’s throwing him the ball? Doesn’t seem like him becoming a better WR is going to make whoever is at QB get it to him better than Young. QB worse, RB worse (can’t replace Gibbs), WR same at best, OL who knows, DL worse, LB worse, DB worse.

Bennett doesn’t say anything about it. He was 23 Of 34 for 398 & 3 TDs with no elite WRs. Stroud was 23 of 34 for 348 and 4 TDs with the 2 best WR in the country. All the media could talk about was Stroud in his loss. Bennett is still shunned.
