Back in the Super Bowl "for the first time since 2018". Meanwhile back in Dallas where they haven't been to a Super Bowl since the 1995 season. Holly cow. There were guys in there 20's who are now middle aged since it happened. Got their AARP letter with the offer of a free tote bag.
Luck. Ask him to do it two times in a row or the next five times in a row. I made a half court shot in high school. Luck.
The question of winning a National Championship is not paramount at Arkansas. You said what everyone else already knew so I guess you're just catching up. Whatever.
It just seems like either this upcoming hire or the next almost certainly will be looked at as not only a coordinator but a HC candidate in the future. Pruitt seems like a no go from the get go but you never know, so.....
Four losses by a total of 9 points. It can make you think it was close, or it can make a Hog fan cry. Close but no soap and the odd thing seemed to be that when the offense was holding up well, the defense was setting records for, for the other teams offense. Then the defense would put together a good game, LSU for one, and the offense couldn't roll. But losing both coordinators might not be an all together bad thing, especially on defense.
If you're that studied on Arkansas, why is every post a put down. Why would you bother to "forget more about Arkansas" than anyone else. Saying it doesn't make it true, which all of us believe that you don't have a clue.
I hear about the argument that Arkansas is down two players. But, it's the second half in the Vandy game that's should be more worrisome than just the losing streak. 63 second half points. I can't even remember the last time that happened in college BB. But I'm sure someone will find it. Speaking of the Dukes of Hazard, Arky could use a Boss Hog right now on the court.
Man you just continue to show your lack of football knowledge. Just give it up already.
If Jefferson goes with him, that will be one huge hole to dig out of this late.
But their HC was Bert Bielema sooooo......
False flag there Dale. Your comments mean nothing at all.
Yes, we have no idea who did what for sure. Still, even a discussion of millions for a high school unproven athlete sure makes me say, what a minute and get more info. It seems illogical. Maybe pay based on performance, like coaches should have to do but don't. (Chad Morris says "thank you" with Harsin smiling in the background). Pack up, we're moving to the SEC. "Think you can do well there?" Does it matter????
Free agency will hit a lot of schools and it will get worse. California just introduced a bill that schools will split 50-50 net revenues with players in football, men's and women's BB and athletes will become employees of schools.(player's union next?)If they do, how will other states react. Money talks. Will other states even have a choice. And they say there is a good chance it passes unlike previous bills.
Jefferson is returning...but where. This free agency is crazy and TCU is in need of a QB. Anyone can take a stab at why Briles left. Home state or whatever. But clearly the competition is softer in the Big 12 and it will only get easier in 2024.TCU was in the CFP championship game...but "playing" in the game is a matter of interpretation after a total shellacking. And their conference champ fared somewhat better but still got wacked. Turning down State, then getting out of the SEC seems logical even if it's not his stated reasons.
If Saban wasn't in his 70's that might be true. But a chance to perform well as a coordinator on the Bama staff is going to be part of the hire equation at this point.
With Saban in his 70's, isn't that exactly why a top coordinator would jump to Bama? Maybe not 10 years ago, 5 years ago. It might make sense to go for a current top coach rather than Pruitt who likely won't be a HC in Bama's future.
Just saw an ESPN story that says Briles has agreed to jump to TCU and a softer conference while Arkansas is finalizing a deal to hire Dan Enos from Maryland. I would guess the real back story is will Jefferson stick with the Hogs or will that softer schedule in the Big 12 be the key to pump up numbers. I think if this had been a couple years from now it might look tasty with replacements like UCF and Cincinnati and Houston replacing the heavyweights. Yes, Okie and Texas are still the heavyweights in spite of last years results. The replacements still to me look like a bigger version of the Mountain West. UCF and Cincy were suppose to be the big gets but they have lost a lot of shine recently. The two big 12 championship participants got plastered in the post season. Says it all about what it will look like when you champ is beaten 65-7. I blame Michigan for that game.
Normally I wouldn't count them out. But the reality is harsh. Three double digit losses in a row, including Vandy which is just a fair team at best. After that three string performance, even knowing they're down a couple players, is telling. Lots of teams are missing a player or two but I thought with all the top recruiting the past couple years that surely there was more than enough to beat Vanderbilt. Even that loss to LSU is looking worse than it did. Yes Arky can always make a run by SEC tournament time, but it just looks pretty doubtful. 60+ points in the second half against Vanderbilt. Whoosh.
It's sure not looking like it from the rake in from the portal.
You guys needed some good news. Last fall it was "well at least BB is coming up". Now it's "well, baseball is coming up". Careful it could be catchy or a curse.
Change the Pinstripe bowl to just the Lawnmower bowl and change the sponsor every year. Snapper, Grasshopper, Kubota, John Deere.....
Opt outs. No one can declare for the portal until after the bowl games. Or if they do, they sit out a year. If they opt out or just quit the team, where ever they might go they sit a year. Offer injury insurance polices for draft opt outs. Probably won't work but there it is. a Million dollar injury policy with stipulations. Bowl games. Yes, with the field going to 12 (should be 8) some bowls just need to shut down. 7 wins minimum. You mention the Liberty bowl. I read that Arkansas was down to 55 scholarship players at kickoff because of draft opt outs, transfers and injuries. Then lost two more in the first minutes. Kansas as bad as they are, losing 7 of their last 8, should have cleaned Arky's clock but didn't. Never should have been a question. Instead it took on that Spring exhibition game feeling, crazy bad officiating and all. A&M probably saw it as a blessing that they weren't needed at 5-7 fill a slot. Rice University got that embarrassing assignment. Too funny. It's all changed because of NIL and the portal and you just can't count on who will be with you come game day. Like it or not, it's just the way it is and will only become a bigger issue.
I just came back to see how well the praise for a win over Missouri had aged after blows to Auburn, Alabama and....Vanderbilt? Not well, not aging well at all.
Dogs everywhere could only wish to live the life that Uga enjoys at Georgia. Are we getting tired of this woke garbage yet?
He's being setup for praise. I've seen sports heads say it will be a miracle working if Colorado wins 5 games. So if they do finish 5-7, expect to see them fall over each other to nominate Sanders for Coach of the Year.
Well that was a big ole nothing sandwich. Running out of material for football this time of year. OK.
Hard to say. Arky missing two of their best starters, one for the season, the other probably as well. But still a big win.
